I didn’t have to work on Friday, because it was Veteran’s Day. I know! Veteran’s Day!!! I thought about the vets for like two minutes as I was channel surfing in my pjs. I saw Dum-Dum Dubya defending HIS war in Iraq and I almost puked. Even tasted a little bile in my throat, but then I took a sip of my icy cold Diet Coke and ate some popcorn. Ha! I know most of you are like: lazy government workers, but I’m far from lazy and very closed to being the envy of you all. I mean, really, with my salary, I deserve a couple of extra days off. I’ll admit there are some slow and irritating types working for the state or the feds (DMV and County Clerk you really need a seminar on customer service), but most of us work hard for little to no money. We’re the unsung heroes of city. We keep everything going and you don’t even know it. You corporate rats can continue to race around your little maze and make the stockholders and CEO obscenely wealthy, I’ll just serve the public and luxuriate in my many days off. I wonder if we get President’s Day?

Teachers are the real heroes of this city...and we don't even get the state holidays off. We do, however, get summers off.
