Damn that flu virus. I barely remember this past Thursday and Friday is a blur, I think I woke up for good on Saturday afternoon. It’s insane. I don’t think I’ve ever had the flu. I’m more a bronchitis or sinus infection from allergies type of girl. But the overwhelming fatigue, nausea, congestion, and aches & pains was awful. (insert violin music here) Well, anyway, I’ve been wondering something for awhile. Has anyone noticed that the media didn’t start knocking celebrity adoptions until celebrities started adopting Black babies? Tons of celebrities have adopted children over the years. But there seems to be a big backlash to Madonna’s new baby and Angelina and Brad’s growing United Colors of Benetton family. Yes, it's great. I remember when the fad was adoping eastern European and Russian babies. However, I'd be more supportive if they adopted ME!
i have a question... what is your opinion about animal adoption? i just read in the CJ this morning something for the Teen Hot Spot thing that really got my blood boiling. someone said that we should care more about people than animals. and im like, we dont care enough about animals as it is. i commented on it, didnt know i had wirtten that much either. but i was just wondering about your opinion. i have liked what i have read in your blogs so far. i was hoping that you could give me even more insight into the situation.
It seems my strong opinion on international adoption is influenced by my 12 yr professional experience in the child welfare system of this country. Bottomline to that opinion for the purpose of this comment: There are PLENTY of children in THIS country that need a healthy home. As usual, AMericans - celebrity or commmon folk - seek outward for what can be found within our borders.
Peace and Blessings
