I loved the Da Vince Code!

If you haven’t read the book, do it. It was a great suspenseful novel. But, if you are upset about a piece of fiction, please go get your head examined. No one cares that CSI is wrecking havoc on the criminal justice system. These shows with their fabricated science and limitless, fictitious, state budgets for hi-tech equipment has poisoned the jury pool. No one cares that the medical community says time and time again that our favorite medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and ER are far from the truth of real medical care and treatment. The Da Vinci Code is an interesting and fascinating work of fiction. I hate to tell people, but the Bible is not an infallible, historical document. The most popular Bible in print in America is the ‘King James VERSION.’ It says right there on the spine of the book: VERSION. According to dictionary.com version means: (1) A description or account from one point of view, especially as opposed to another; (2) A particular form or variation of an earlier or original type or (3) An adaptation of a work of art or literature into another medium or style. An adaptation. A variation. Not an exact translation or a literal copy. But, I digress into theology. It’s a movie for enjoyment!!!! A money making scheme. It’s not an educational or theological tool. Everything on TV and Movies should be suspect to its viewers. It’s a SELLING tool. It’s not meant to educate. And yes they can lie, fantasize, exaggerate, distort, amplify, diminish, minimalize any fact they want to. It’s entertainment. Have I said that already? Go see the movie or don’t. Nobody protested The Passion because it portrayed Jesus, arguably a black or brown man, as a scrawny, white guy.

Love this song: You by Raheem DeVaughn.

My mind has been puzzled at how people would even think that by viewing this movie (or even reading the book) one would believe the premise of the plot, so much so that we need a disclaimer telling us this is merely a work of fiction... come one...

You have an issue because the church is not doing its job! This statement is applicable to Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox.

The traditional churches are lossing members. The Presbyterian Church based in Louisville has lost approximately 1million members in the last 20yrs. The UMC(United Methodists), the ELCA(Episcopal Lutheran) are following suit.

This is because most people don't know what they personally believe or the organization they claim to be party too. This is not a good combination. Now that the churches have not decided to teach properly, Hollywood has decided to step in!:) People intelligent and unintelligent are influenced by media. This movie does have potention to shake persons who aren't overly sure of their belifes in the first place.

As opposed to educating parishoneers(sp), the church has decided to cry foul!

I personally don't believe that Jesus was married. However, the theory is not completely outlandish as some would believe. The theory of Jesus being married has been around for a long time, however IT WAS DOWN PLAYED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH! This is history!

The Catholic Church subverted LOTS of theories in the dark ages to raise to dominance. Today we call these theories Unorthodx. I am in agreement with most of our current conventional beliefs...however I am not decieved in believing they are alone in standing.

If the church doesn't want to face this issue, then it is time to truly educate the believers...

1. Why do we believe this versus this?
2. Why would people accept an unmarried man at that period when marriage was the epitonmy(sp) of being a man?

If anything, I hope this movie causes dialouge....

I loved the Da Vinci Code too! It was the only movie I've ever seen come close to capturing most of what was in the book, especially Silas.

Is it so awful to think Jesus had a wife? He was a man while here on Earth afterall, that's normal. I hope he did as it would help the Lord be understanding when all those spouses look to the sky and yell "Give me strength, Lord!" after their spouse just did something stupid!!
