Nothing but a Hallmark holiday. Corporate greed exploiting our most ardent desire of being loved…of having love…of being the object of affection. To be adored above anyone else and everyone else. It’s a very manipulative “holiday.” Hallmark tried to start another one called “Sweetest Day” but luckily no one was buying it. (literally or figuratively). Inundated with calculating advertisements to buy candy, flowers, jewelry, lingerie, and other items deemed worthy of this ridiculous holiday. On top of these constant manipulations, people are constant reminded of how unworthy they are if they don’t have a love or they are not the object of desire. Shame, embarrassment, bitterness all seep into the day because you are reminded of your supposed worthlessness. This is such a bogus holiday. It only contributes to our deluded and unrealistic views of marriage. It fuels a billion dollar beauty industry and helps sell hair products, make-up, perfume, and tons of other junk
Of course, everything I said above is BS, cuz I got RED ROSES witches!!!!! Ha, how you like me now?
